CTL Courseware Development Process

CTL provides services to assist faculty in Blackboard courseware development. Depending on the time of the initial consultation and the number of support projects that CTL has at the time, there is the possibility that a Blackboard course will not be completed in its entirety before a quarter begins. In such a case, it might be necessary for CTL to continue adding Blackboard course content while the course is in progress.

  • Agreement on scope, schedule, and responsibilities for developing a Blackboard course.
  • Instructor agrees to complete the faculty Blackboard online course "Using Blackboard Effectively" according to deadlines proposed in this document.
  • Instructor agrees to administer the Blackboard Post Student Survey and to complete the Blackboard Post Instructor Evaluation by the end of the first quarter of courseware implementation to provide feedback to CTL.
  • CTL consultant and instructor complete the CTL Consultation Form #1 together and sign the contract agreement.

Services

Image Integration

Images (photographs, slides, etc) can be scanned, edited, and added to courseware to provide a visual enhancement to your text based information. Diagrams and graphs also give students an added visual learning environment.

HTML

Microsoft Word files can be placed into Dreamweaver (HTML Editor) to create a visual map of text, images, and colors, and add continuity to your course site. When using the same content structure (i.e., course goals, assignments, content, quizzes), students have a clear path for better learning.

PDF

Many files (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) require the application for the student view it. Exporting, printing, or saving the file to a PDF, allows your students to view your content from any web browser with the Adobe Acrobat Reader, and provides easy access to valuable content anywhere, anytime.

Animations

Animating objects or images to highlight the area of focus can provide another dimension to complex concepts. Our highly trained staff can add rollover definitions, navigation, multiple views, and more.

Video/Audio

Video and audio allow students to experience real world scenarios that may be very difficult to create in a classroom. Provide your students video and audio online so that they may review the content and reference it as many times as necessary. Create karaoke to help students learn foreign languages. Show videos of K-12 student interactions in the classroom for future teachers. The possibilities are endless.

Games/Puzzles

Providing students with alternative ways for self-education allows for all students and all learning styles to benefit. These students were raised on games and fun learning; help them achieve the goal for your course by providing them with alternative content that they enjoy using.

Note: Customers may have small items (one offs) that we may be able to fit in-between the full courseware development projects. This can be determined in the first 1hr consultation.
