Reduce Image Sizes Using Picasa

PowerPoint presentations and images on the web can be unweildy, with high resolution images creating giant file sizes and slowing down transfers over the internet. This tutorial will teach you how to use Picasa (PC) to quickly optimize photos for PowerPoint or other digital presentations.

  1. Open Picasa and click File > Add Folder to Picasa...
  2. Navigate to the folder of images, select Scan Once, then click OK.

  1. Picasa will load the specified images into your library.
  2. Right-click on the folder in Picasa, and click Select All Pictures.

  1. Click File > Export Picture to Folder...
  2. Specify a location and folder name for the resized images.

  1. Make sure the Resize To: button is clicked, then drag the slider left or right to define the size of the new images.

  1. Under Image Quality, choose Custom, then drag the slider left or right to define the quality of the new images, then click OK.
  1. You're finished. Picasa will place the new images in the folder you specified in step 6.
