Learning Communities
Newer Faculty Learning Communities.
The purpose of this group is to allow our new faculty to share teaching/learning ideas and form interdisciplinary professional (as well as social) bonds.The activities of the Newer Faculty Learning Community will be formulated during the first meeting based on the interests of the participants. Possible activities include creating a professional development plan, sharing teaching/learning triumphs and tribulations, and interdisciplinary project.
The Center for Teaching and Learning is also in the process of creating a learning community that will focus on the issue of diversity and how instructors can integrate diversity concepts into pedagogical and curriculum enhancements.

Our Newer Faculty Learning Communities for 2006-2007 are:
1. Excellence in Teaching and Learning (doc) (pdf)
Desired Outcomes: The development of innovative teaching techniques and
integration into your existing course or laboratory.
2. Planning and Implementing an Excellent Faculty Career (doc) (pdf)
Desired Outcomes: WPAF and professional development plan draft or revision.
3. Faculty Directed Learning Communities
Desired Outcome: Continued collaboration with peers throughout the university by discussing selected topics of mutual interest and developing a learning community
selected project (teaching with technology, team teaching, peer review).
Opportunities for other new learning communities are also available.
